Dr. Marlene Teo

Dr. Marlene Teo graduated from the National University of Singapore, where she was the 6th dental graduate in its 64-year history to be awarded BDS Honors. Throughout her course of study, Dr. Teo was awarded a total of 11 academic and clinical medals, including the Lee Kuan Yew gold medal (best student throughout course of study), the Tratman Silver Medal (Most Distinguished Graduate) and the Dr FAC Oehlers Gold Medal (Best Clinical Student). She subsequently obtained her Masters in Periodontology from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill where she was selected as one of four finalists in the prestigious Orban competition. That same year, Dr. Teo was also awarded the North Carolina-AADR Turner Research award. She is an Adjunct Assistant Professor at the University` of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, a diplomate of the American Board of Periodontology, and an ITI Fellow. She is also a key opinion leader for Oral-B, Dentsply Professional, Straumann and Bio-Oss and a certified trainer for Dentsply Professional. Dr. Teo maintains a clinical practice limited to periodontics and dental implants at TP Dental Surgeons Pte Ltd. She holds an appointment as Adjunct Lecturer at the National University of Singapore. This involves supervising both undergraduates and postgraduates in the Periodontology program and the Certificate in Oral Implantology Singapore course. Dr. Teo lectures extensively in English and Mandarin both locally and internationally. Her areas of interest are soft tissue aesthetics in implant dentistry, multidisciplinary treatment planning, dental tissue regeneration, and treating patients with dental phobias. She passionately believes in leading a holistic and healthy lifestyle to boost immunity and combat periodontal disease.
